These two exceptional individuals founded and led Royal Finance with vision and dedication for 30 years. 

They started their careers without money, coming from very meagre beginnings. They proved that you can achieve your dreams with the right attitude and a willingness to put in the work.

They built this business on integrity, honesty and hard work. They invested in their employees based on their belief that employees are any business's biggest asset. They gave terrific opportunities to staff members to uplift themselves; many are now company shareholders. Through all the uncertain times, they stood their ground every time the future of the microfinance industry was in question, never fearing what tomorrow might bring. They quickly adapted when needed and refused to let fear hold them back. 

Thanks to them, we have a legacy to build on.

Mariëtte Ischner, Managing Director

Mariëtte embodies the spirit of "challenge accepted". Known for her ability to deliver exceptional results quickly and precisely, she thrives on pushing boundaries and achieving excellence. 

She completed her B.Com degree in 2004 and was awarded as the best student in the economics faculty over three years. In 2018, she was part of the IEDP in Development Finance at the WITS Business School, and her knowledge and passion in this field led Royal Finance to be invited to a pilot with the World Bank, the NCR and FinFind to find solutions to the complex problems of developmental finance in SA.

She is the Vice Chairperson of Microfinance South Africa, a leading member association committed to ensuring a sustainable microfinance industry. Her dreams and ideas never stop, and her passion for balancing innovation and technology with customer centricity guides everything we embark on at Royal Finance.

Elani Fourie, Financial Director

A true maximizer, Elani embodies dynamism in every aspect. With an unwavering focus on achieving the best possible outcomes, she approaches challenges with foresight and precision, making her a standout financial guru. 

She enjoyed math so much in school that she decided to enrol in Additional Mathematics. If this does not tell you that she isn't only a pretty face, the fact that she achieved distinctions in six higher-grade subjects may. She studied B.Ed FET Natural Sciences because of her passion for children but decided to become part of the family business in 2014 to ensure a contingency plan when Elize retired.

Elani has transformed our finance office in her years with us, turning potential into remarkable progress. Her exceptional interpersonal skills and genuine care for her colleagues have earned her the admiration and respect of everyone around her.

Dawie de Meyer, Operational Director

As a valued management team member, Dawie brings a blend of analytical prowess and relentless determination. 

Dawie first completed his B.Com Degree at the University of the North West; whereafter he decided to study to become a Structural Engineer. After that goal was reached and he had been an engineer for quite some time, the family called upon him in need, and he was elated to become part of the team.

His role as Operational Director is a perfect fit for his keen analytical thinking and drive to excel, ensuring our team's smooth operation and success. Dawie thrives on productivity and innovation and is always eager to explore new ideas and approaches. His optimistic outlook and ability to energize team members contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking environment. With his calm yet assertive demeanour, Dawie is pivotal in fostering strong cohesion among team members.
